Bioinformatics

Description

The Department of Bioinformatics is distinguished by our multidisciplinary team, which allows us to carry out complex studies and research in the following areas:

  • Computational biology, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence, where we explore biological processes through advanced informatics approaches.
  • Plant Biology, Phytochemistry and Biopolymers, where we research plants, natural chemicals and biodegradable materials.
  • Discrete mathematics, algebra, theoretical computer science, algorithms and data structures, where we develop methods and algorithms to tackle various theoretical and practical problems.
  • Environmental monitoring, biomonitoring activities and expertise in aquatic ecology and ecotoxicology, where we analyze environmental health and interactions between organisms and the environment.

Through our expertise in data analysis, computational modelling and environmental studies, we contribute to the complex understanding of biological phenomena and interactions in nature.
