HR Excellence in Research Award

The National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences (INCDSB) is in the process of certifying its Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) according to the standards set by the European Commission. After joining the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, INCDSB has successfully completed the initial phase and is now in the implementation phase of the first action plan.

With this initiative, the Institute reaffirms its commitment to promoting an open, transparent and favourable research environment for the development of human resources in line with the 40 European principles.

Initial stage

  1. HR Excellence in Research Award

    The National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences (INCDSB) has received from the European Commission the "HR Excellence in Research Award" for Human Resources in Research. This recognition attests the institution's commitment to the principles of European Charter for Researchers and of the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, confirming the adoption of transparent, fair and professional development-orientated practices for research staff. Obtaining this distinction places INCDSB among the European organisations that promote excellence, ethics and sustainability in research careers.

  2. The HRS4R application has been officially submitted on the European Commission platform, marking the finalisation of the institutional readiness phase and the submission of the complete documentation for evaluation by EURAXESS experts. This moment was a decisive step in INCDSB's commitment to the implementation of European standards in the field of human resources for research.

  3. HRS4R process documentation finalised - including checklist OTM-Rtype analysis GAP, action plan and process description - ensuring coherence, relevance and alignment with European Commission requirements.

  4. The internal analysis was carried out through extensive consultation of the INCDSB scientific community, based on a questionnaire, face-to-face discussions, in order to assess the degree of compliance with the principles of the Charter and Code and to identify real needs, strengths and areas for improvement.

  5. The HRS4R steering committee and working group has been appointed as an essential step in structuring the internal process, bringing together specialists from different departments, administrative staff and HR managers to ensure a coherent, transparent and consistent implementation in line with European standards.

  6. INCDSB sends to the European Commission a letter of commitment by which it assumes the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
