Within the Institute we offer a range of services and products developed within our projects, the results of which represent significant contributions to knowledge. These results are translated into publications in peer-reviewed journals with a wide audience in academia, society and beyond. Thus, they bring added value to the visibility of the INCDSB and can have a great potential for exploitation in various fields such as:
- Flow cytometry analysis;
- Identification of chemical and biochemical biomarkers resulting from metabolic processes;
- Bioinformatics analysis of molecular biology data - genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics;
- Testing the antimicrobial activity of natural products;
- Composition and efficacy profile analysis for plant extracts and phytopharmaceuticals;
- Extraction and concentration of active compounds and their conditioning as transport vectors (phytosomes, transferosomes, controlled release carrier vehicles);
- Artificial blood testing (14 types of haemoglobin and haemerythrin derivatives: 7 haemoglobins and 7 haemerythrins);
- Biocompatibility testing of medical devices and other substances/materials on cell cultures (in vitro);
- Testing the immunomodulatory action of novel bee products;
- Validation of bee venom action in a predefined pathological context;

- Testing the effect of pesticides and neuroexcitotoxic compounds - glutamate, aspartame, cyclamate, effects on neuro-embryonic development, immune, endocrine-metabolic response, etc.

- Continuous training (specialist training in the use of techniques and validation of analysis and characterisation methods), targeting both business and academia.
- Molecular identification of plant species for quality control of dietary supplements using DNA barcoding and DNA metabarcoding;
- Development of dietary supplement formulations (formulation protocols, quality analysis, compositional and efficacy profile characterisation for new product);
- Analysis of active compounds (lipid and water-soluble vitamins, polyphenols, anthocyanins), metabolites, contaminants, degradation products from food, beverages, nutritional supplements using high-performance methods - high performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric/UV-vis/fluorescence detection and capillary electrophoresis;
- Extraction, concentration and conditioning of active compounds for introduction into functional foods;
- Development of technology lines for new products;
- Determination of nutritional value;
- Development of rapid analysis tools - specific sensors and biosensors, tailored to analysis needs;
- Genotyping of crop plants using genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) to improve breeding programmes;
- Standardised methods testing to support a decision-making system for commercial PMG cultivation in Romania;
- Assistance in the development of nutritional claims and labelling for food supplements according to the legislation in force;

- Analysis of contaminants (heavy metals, pesticides, emerging contaminants in pharmaceuticals);

- Development of advanced extraction and processing technologies for obtaining bioactive compounds (antioxidants, polyphenols, peptides, hydrolysed collagen), usable in food supplements, cosmetics and agricultural products, and their transfer and implementation to economic operators.
- Making better use of by-products and waste from agriculture and industry by converting plant residues into natural fertilisers or plant biostimulants.
- Development and implementation of technologies for the recovery of proteins and peptides from fish processing side-streams (scales, bones, skin, viscera), with dual applications: food supplements/cosmetics and biofertilisers/biostimulants for agriculture.
- Consultancy for companies and authorities in designing integrated circular bioeconomy solutions in line with the principles of the green economy.
- Development of wastewater bioremediation technologies (municipal, agricultural, industrial) using microalgae, including mesocosm testing. Transfer and implementation to economic operators.
- Environmental management solutions and assessment of climate change impacts on microalgae and aquatic ecosystems, including control of harmful algal blooms.
- Supply of authenticated strains of microalgae and cyanobacteria for research, industrial testing and development of bioproducts (biofertilisers, bioactive compounds, pigments).
- Production and characterisation of algal biomass, development of biofertilisers, biostimulants, supplements and cosmetics based on microalgae.
- Support for authorities, companies and environmental operators in implementing circular solutions that combine bioremediation with algal biomass valorisation.
- Development of digital tools for monitoring biotechnological processes.
- Development of predictive models to optimise resource use, reduce waste and increase the efficiency of biotechnological processes, respecting the principles of circular economy.
