INCDSB became a member, and national coordinator, of the International Barcode of Life Consortium (iBOL), an alliance of research institutions from 30(+) countries, which is establishing the building blocks of a global DNA-based biological monitoring system.

June 2019, iBOL will launch BIOSCANa project that will scan biotic communities in 2,500 localities around the world, also expanding the reference library of DNA barcodes needed to interpret this data.

BIOSCAN sets up the Global Biodiversity Mission that will complete the global biological inventory while activating a global biological monitoring system.
