From 28 May to 8 June 2023, the de-the XLVth Meeting Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM 45) and 25th Meeting of the Committee on Environmental Protection (CEP25).

The composition and objectives of the delegation were also approved by Memorandum 1478/5.04.2023 - Romanian Academy, endorsed by the Vice-President of the Romanian Academy - Acad. Nicolae-Victor Zamfir, President of the Commission for Antarctic Research of the Romanian Academy (CNCAME) and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Bogdan Aurescu.

On behalf of the National Institute for Research and Development in Biological Sciences (INCDSB), the delegation included Dr Manuela Elisabeta Sidoroff, Vice-President of CNCAME, ATCM contact point, responsible for scientific issues at ATCM and Dr Iris Maria Tușa, Head of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Department.

In the ATCM programme on behalf of INCDSB, a Background Paper BP001rev3 was presented in the section "Science issues, future science challenges, scientific cooperation and facilitation" summarizing the results of the expeditions organized by the institute in the period 2015-2020 at King Sejong Station, Barton Peninsula in West Antarctica under the cooperation agreement between INCDSB and KOPRI Polar Research Institute in Korea.
