Science of the future – European Year of Youth

Young researchers from the National Institute for Research and Development of Biological Sciences took part in the “Science of the Future” event on the occasion of the “European Year of Youth,” organized by the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization, together with the Ministry of Education, 15 research and research and development institutes and academia.

The event occurred between June 8 and 9, 2022, in the courtyard of the National Museum of Geology, Sos. Kiseleff no.2, during which there were interactive presentations for high school students eager to understand the world of research.

During the event focused on the “sixth wave of innovation,” in the courtyard of the museum, young high school students who wanted to pursue a university career in the technical field admired the exhibits and experiments prepared by the national research and development institutes from Bucharest and Ilfov on digitalization, intelligence artificial (drones, robots) and green technologies.

The young people could enjoy the interaction with the researchers by stepping a little into their world and learning about projects carried out in our country, research directions, and intriguing experiments. They were able to test simulators, and last but not least, they learned stories and experiences from scientific expeditions.

An attraction of the stand of the National Institute for Research – Development of Biological Sciences was the presentation of the research activity in Antarctica within the ROICE project.

 

Minister Sebastian – Ioan Burduja, present at the event, said: “We want to fall in love again with our young people of science and technology. They are Romania of the future…
