Dr. Cosmin Teodor Mihai from the ICB Iasi branch of INCDSB are among the 10 volunteer researchers working in the molecular biology laboratory of the Research and Experimental Medicine Centre of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Gr.T. Popa". The two Real-Time PCR machines are used to test samples taken to determine the presence of the coronavirus. In the first month, more than 2,500 samples were taken, and now the team of ten people working in the laboratory has gained experience of performing more than 1,000 tests per week. The laboratory has a high level of safety - the BSL3 (Biosafety Level 3) standard. A similar laboratory only exists in the country at Matei Balș.
