The National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences is the Romanian legal entity in the coordination of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The institute was set up by HG no. 1317/11.12.1996 by the reorganization and fusion of the Institute of Biological Development Bucharest, the Institute for Biological Research Cluj-Napoca, the Institute for Biological Research Iasi and “Stejarul” Research Biological Centre, Piatra Neamt.
In 2002 it fused, by absorption, with the ex-National Institute of Research and Development for Biotechnologies, on the basis of HG no. 1272 from November 13, 2002. INCDSB is organized and functions under the conditions stipulated by HG no. 2082/24.11.2004.
The commitment of the National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences to support and promote values of gender equality aims to create an inclusive work environment and diversity in which the rights and dignity of all employees are respected, without discrimination, prejudice, intimidation, and any form of harassment. In this context there were elaborated and approved the General’s Director Commitment regarding Gender Equality, the strategy about Gender Equality 2022-2025 and the Gender Equality Plan 2022-2025.
