The National Institute of Research and Development for Biological Sciences is the Romanian legal entity in the coordination of the Ministry of Education and Research.
The institute was set up by HG no. 1317/11.12.1996 by the reorganization and fusion of the Institute of Biological Development Bucharest, the Institute for Biological Research Cluj-Napoca, the Institute for Biological Research Iasi and “Stejarul” Research Biological Centre, Piatra Neamt.
In 2002 it fused, by absorption, with the ex-National Institute of Research and Development for Biotechnologies, on the basis of HG no. 1272 from November 13, 2002. INCDSB is organized and functions under the conditions stipulated by HG no. 2082/24.11.2004.

On October 6, 2016, the 3D-BS Cluster (Danube-Danube Delta – Black Sea) was established to support the sustainable development of the coastal area and neighboring regions by capitalizing on the results of the scientific research conducted within the future International Center for Advanced Studies on River-Sea Systems (DANUBIUS-RI) , from research institutes and universities through the transfer of knowledge and development of innovative products and services to small and medium enterprises and other business entities in support of socio-economic activities and scientific substantiation of decisions of local, county or regional public authorities development, support for spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management, and the development of local initiatives by authorities, non-governmental organizations and society as a whole ( firstname.lastname@example.org ).
Biogasinno – sustainable energy
The aim of Biogasinno Sustainable Energy Cluster is to develop the field of biogas production at regional, national and international level and implicitly to increase the share of green energy in the total produced energy at national level. Thus, the cluster represents a helping tool for the collaboration and innovation in the biogas production domain, for strengthening the competitiveness and the sustainable development of the envisaged economic fields, for regional, smart, sustainable development, favorable for social inclusion in Romania, according to the European Union recommendations.
The mission of the IND-AGRO-POL competitiveness pole is to stimulate innovation and collaboration in construction of technical equipment for agriculture and food industry and related sectors like bio economy, renewable energy, environment and climate changes, eco-technologies, advanced materials, in order to consolidate the competitiveness and the sustainable development of these economic sectors, regional development and smart, sustainable and socially inclusive growth.
The mission of the cluster is to promote collaboration and cooperation between business entities in the agro-industrial sector, academia and research, but also to encourage the process of competitive restructuring of the sector and ensure participation in multiple commercial, national and international projects. The members of the association “Agro-Food-Ind Napoca Cluster” decided to join forces to support the development of the agro-industrial sector, with the stated purpose of supporting the increase of competitiveness of the association and each member, both on the national and international market.
