Event “Synergies and Collaboration Opportunities in Advanced Research for Rver-Sea Systems”

On 3rd of October 2019, National Institute of R&D for Biological Sciences and Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation organized the event ”SYNERGIES AND COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES IN ADVANCED RESEARCH FOR RIVER-SEA SYSTEMS”, held under the Romanian Presidency of EUSDR.
The main goal of the event was targeted considering both the European context of regional cooperation ensured by EUSDR and DANUBIUS-RI EFRI project, which is an EUSDR flagship project, and envisaged the exchange of good practice and identification of new collaboration opportunities for research of excellence in river-sea systems.

There was two main themes proposed:
1.Excellence in research – milestone action to ensure socio-economic progress which targeted subjects regarding research policies and steps to do in ensuring the synergies between regional, European and national research strategies in order to support sustainable energy, sustainable development while preserving/improving biodiversity and environmental quality

2.Danubius-RI role and contribution to regional and European development.
The audience was formed by academic representatives, invited lecturers being: Dr. Melania Gabriela Ciot – State Secretary, Romanian Ministry of External Affairs; Prof. Thomas Hein -University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna; Prof. Richard Preziosi – Manchester Metropolitan University, UK; Dr. Delia Dimitriu – Manchester Metropolitan University, UK;
